Nothing brings out would-be customers to gun shops across America than a “Come to Jesus” moment.
And frankly, there’s a *lot* of folks in the greater St. Louis area who are having a collective code brown* “Come to Jesus” moment these past few days.
Wanna take a guess why?
And if that’s not enough, how about this?
These folks have in the past always pooh-poohed the possibility of needing a firearm to defend their homes and family against trouble-making thugs and violent predators.
In recent days, these people have seen first-hand just how thin the veneer of civilized society can be in places. And they are scared.
Some are business owners who would rather defend their stores from looters than be put out of business by hoodlums stealing inventory.
Like millions of other Americans in the past five to seven years, these individuals and families will be buying their first guns, along with ammunition and accessories.
Because when seconds count, police are usually minutes away.
And in the rioting and looting in St. Louis of late, the police might not be coming until morning.
* Code brown: Col. Cooper’s color codes of awareness are white, yellow, orange and red for unaware, aware, alert and alarm. There’s also a fifth color code of awareness for some – brown. As in just crapped one’s self.
BRIDGETON, MO. (KMOX) – Gun sales are up across St. Louis since the shooting of Michael Brown and subsequent nights of violence.
Sales have quadrupled at ‘Metro Shooting’ in Bridgeton according to owner Steven King. He says sales have mainly been to men, but not all:
“Probably a dozen or two dozen guns to females, single mothers. We’ve sold to black people, white people. We’ve sold to asians who have businesses on West Florissant.” said King. “They’re just afraid of whats going on and they’re coming in to purchase either additional firearms or their first firearm.”
In the Marines, we learned code “black” as well. That is when you have gone from White or Yellow, directly to Red. Your senses become overwhelmed and you become counter productive in the fight, if you are even able to fight. Always keep practicing mentally during the day with the codes. Condition your mind to get use to reacting. Prepared verses unprepared. As you go through your everyday, you can practice the Cooper Codes in public. Especially if you live in Chicago!
Yes there’s black too. Thank you Richard. I left that one out as to not over-complicate it. And yes, black and brown frequently go together in more than lawyer jokes.
“What’s black and brown and looks good on a lawyer?”
“A Doberman pincer.”
Now that made me laugh! Thanks for that!
Got no Dobie, will a Rottie work?
” A RABID HUNGRY Doberman pincer “.
I wonder what the ammo situation is.
