Not one, not two, but three good Samaritans got involved when they saw a police officer in trouble in Pol County, Florida in recent days. They probably saved the life of the cop that was attacked by a member of America’s criminal culture following a traffic stop.
Given that it was Florida, the perp is probably lucky to be alive, given that it seems like every fifth adult person in Florida has a carry license.
Frankly, I just returned from Florida and had it been me who happened upon the scene, the bad guy in a full mount, beating on a cop while trying to disarm him at the same time would have gotten one warning, then he would have been rapidly and promiscuously perforated sufficiently enough to get him to end the attack.
The cop’s attacker? He was a no good piece of human debris with a long criminal past – a blight on society. Hopefully, the State of Florida will put him away for a long, long time where he belongs.
Florida Sheriff’s Deputy Beaten, Attacked at Traffic Stop – Good Samaritans Save His Life
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida reported Deputy Mike Walsh was attacked Sunday morning by a man he was trying to pull over for running a stop sign and nearly hitting the deputy who was patrolling on a motorcycle.
PCSO reported Corey Johnson was arrested for the attack, image PCSO via WTVT-TV.
Johnson has an arrest record in Polk County. He faces numerous charges in Sunday’s attack: Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer; Resisting an Officer with Violence; Resisting an Officer without Violence; Depriving an Officer of Means of Communication; Felony Criminal Mischief; Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer; and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.
Local media has interviewed the three Good Samaritans, all men, who aided the officer and helped subdue his attacker. PCSO stated Deputy Walsh was treated for a broken thumb as well as bruises and abrasions. His helmet helped protect his head during the attack.
The Good Samaritans are Black, Latino and white.
Yes, most Americans are good and decent people.
A handful will even rise to the occasion when there’s a life-threatening emergency.
It’s not just in Florida. It’s happening in Texas and other states as well.
A few days ago there was this:
You probably already saw this, also from Texas.
(CNN) – When a Texas teenager provided “backup” for a law officer pumping gas alone in the rain near Houston, she snapped a selfie of the two of them. It has gone viral.
Harris County Deputy Constable Tommi Jones Kelley posted the photo this week to Facebook and wrote, “this teenager I’ve never met before is standing right behind me & says, ‘ma’am, do u mind if I stand here behind you while u get ur gas?'”
She asked him why. The young man, whom she identified as Mckinley Zoellner, answered “to make sure You stay safe!” Kelley wrote. The post had been shared 181,000 times by early Sunday.
God Bless America and God Bless our Police Officers who keep us safe from America’s criminal class.
Just like good Americans step up and protect and honor our troops at recruiting stations, so too will we do the same for our local cops.
And our local cops’ families.
Someone’s got to watch their back while they’re watching ours.
