Meeting begins at 7pm.

Phil Davis has been a life-long gun rights activist and supporter. He’s a remarkably charismatic history teacher by day, and a gun store guy in his spare time.
He’s also a wordsmith and he’s recently gotten a book published. It’s at Amazon.
He’ll be at the December 14th meeting of Guns Save Life Sangamon County at the SCHEELS store in Springfield, signing copies.
Also, slated to speak is Amy Beadle from SCHEELS, talking about what it was like to host the HOOAH Deer Hunt for Heroes soldiers and Marines in early November. SCHEELS graciously outfitted these wounded warriors at no cost in a tremendous show of corporate philanthropy towards our nation’s active duty military and veterans. It wasn’t just a hunting trip for these men, it was an experience of a lifetime and the SCHEELS people made sure it started off on the right foot in a good boot. Even Governor Rauner came out to meet the men.
Also, we’ll have Tom Huffington, one of the founders, and one of the Gaither brothers and maybe others in that family to talk about this program that helps our nation’s wounded soldiers and veterans recover from their injuries, both physical and mental, and integrate back into society.

Thank you to everyone who came out. Thank you to Phil for discussing his new book, Jay for Tech Time and the ABC bag, and especially Amy and the folks from HOOAH for telling their stories about the hunts and veterans involved.
It was another great turnout and another great meal from Scheels.
I brought my son and my brother. It was the first GSL meeting for all of us. We found it interesting, informative, and entertaining. I was especially moved by Amy’s presentation. It’s nice to finally have a chapter in central Illinois. We’ll be back.
