Fred Kubicek sends me some great stuff on a regular basis.  Today, most of it didn’t have to do with guns, so we’ll put the guns stuff first and you can read from there if you wish.

Andy Fox excoriates the Virginia Beach, VA school district seeking expulsion of a student for shooting an air-soft pistol on his own private property, 70 yards from a bus stop before the bus arrived.

One Last Thing – A suspended student is waiting to hear from the Virginia Beach Public School System whether or not he will be expelled from school for the rest of this school year for shooting classmates with an air soft gun. Sounds reasonable. Wait, this was before school started while the boys were waiting for the school bus near the bus stop. Well actually, while it was before school, they weren’t actually at the bus stop yet. In fact they were still on the boy’s private property! Makes sense to me, after all at some point the boys would have left that private property and gone to the bus stop, and then caught the school bus and then gotten to the school which they would eventually enter – and you can’t have guns in school!  Hummm, I wonder what the District would have done if the boy admitted to dreaming about shooting an air soft gun just before he woke up and headed off to school?

Thought For The Day –

“The Romans used to say that courage is not the only virtue, but it’s the only one that makes the other virtues possible.” – Benjamin Netanyahu

Good Morning Everyone,

I find it interesting that for some reason the far left has recently become obsessed with calling conservatives every name under the sun.

For instance, yesterday Harry Reid specifically referred to conservatives who have attempted to defund Obamacare ‘anarchists & fanatics.’  And Nancy Pelosi wasn’t any more gracious. She recently accused House Republicans of using ‘legislative arson.’   But then in the past she has often times attempted to vilify opponents as she did when she referred to Republicans who opposed an extension of a health care program as being members of ‘the E-coli Club.’ Even the President took on a less than a Presidential persona when he accused the House Republicans of ‘…trying to mess with me.’

But this is nothing new for the left. Back in 2010 MSNBC’s Ed Schultz referred to those who opposed Obamacare as ‘brownshirts,’ – clearly referencing Hitler’s thugs back in 1930’s Germany. In 2012 Al Sharpton called conservatives Nazi’s, but then others of his ilk have been been that for years, so I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

I guess what really bothers me about this latest round of name calling by the left, and especially the President, is that they seem to be forgetting the fact that the power of the purse rests in the House of Representatives. As such, when they stand up and say enough is enough, they are not arsonists, anarchists or fanatics. They are performing their Constitutionally delegated duty. Furthermore, they have not threatened to shut down the government. In fact they have specifically authorized continuing governmental operations with one exception, and we all know what that exception is. Democratic Senate Leader is fond of reminding everyone that Obamacare is the law of the land. Slavery was also once the law of the land, as was prohibition and denying women’s suffrage. Laws can be changed or eliminated. Defunding Obamacare is merely one way to do it!

As has been said several times this week, the President appears to be willing to talk to Russia, Syria and even Iran, but he has stated from the very beginning that he will not talk to Republicans on his pet project. He was willing to talk to big business about it & granted them a waiver. He was willing to talk to politicians about it and granted them a waiver. Why won’t he talk to a majority of the people’s Representatives in the House? Our system of government is built on a concept known as ‘checks & balances.’ In this instance the liberals have not done a good job of keeping the balance, so the conservatives have decided it is time to write a smaller check!

That’s all for today folks,

Fred

  1. I really want to comment on this stupidity, but can not even think of the correct words to deal with actions such as these. Events like this make me wonder if the children of this country even have a chance.
