by John Naese, GSL Sign Committee chair
At the September meeting, you’ll have the chance to create some new Burma-type slogans for Guns Save Life’s famous roadside signs.
Start thinking now. We want these to be clean, have some rhyme, and be something that a family with kids traveling down the Interstate can read and discuss along the way. A little humor is strongly encouraged. Slogans should be four lines long (the fifth line is always GUNSSAVELIFE.COM). Each phrase should be no more than about 19 characters (letters and spaces).
Here’s one example, without humor but with rhyme, and it promotes discussion:
HERE’S A THOUGHT
FOR YOU TO PONDER
AN ARMED CITIZEN
AS FIRST RESPONDER
Here’s another example, with humor:
A CROOK’S IN JAIL
HE LEARNED HIS LESSON
HIS TEACHER WAS
A SMITH AND WESSON
Bring your ideas to the meeting on September 11th in Rantoul. We’ll gather them up, read a few aloud, and see what the reaction is. If you can’t make the September meeting, email your ideas to me at johnnaese@comcast.net, or send them to John Naese, 505 S. Cleveland St., Philo, IL, 61864. Let’s get creative, and educate the public in our unique, Guns Save Life way.
