What would you say to a group of politicians who wanted to ban America’s favorite pastime, baseball? But what if they claimed it was dangerous?
You would think they were pretty out of touch, wouldn’t you? And you would be absolutely right.
Well, the Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) has declared war on everyday, law-abiding gun owners in Illinois along with America’s favorite rifle, the ubiquitous and versatile homeland defense rifle known to many as the AR-15.
The Democratic Party of Illinois proudly wears the “DEMOCRATS: The Party of Gun Control” label in a series of mailings sent by the DPI as part of a coordinated attack on law-abiding gun owners in Illinois.
The mailings suggest that owners of America’s favorite rifle are a bad hair day from shooting up their towns and cities and are a danger to their families, neighbors and communities. Of course, the Democratic candidates are our only defense to bloodletting in our schools and on our streets with their promises to support more bans on repeating rifles and full capacity magazines.

The problem in Illinois
The problem in Illinois is Michael Madigan and the Democratic Party of Illinois.
Anyone donating to the Democratic Party of Illinois or any Democratic candidate for office are contributing to a coordinated, anti-gun political campaign to smear gun owners and to continue to infringe upon our Constitutionally-protected rights.
Donations to downstate Democrats running for the House of Representatives are effectively donations to support this sort of coordinated campaign against YOUR civil rights.
Anyone voting for a Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in Illinois is supporting a candidate who will vote for Michael Madigan as Speaker of the Illinois House and continuation of the status quo in Springfield. We need change, not more of the same.
Irrespective of that candidate’s claimed position on right-to-carry or gun rights or other civil rights including self-defense, that candidate has far less power than Michael Madigan.
We need hope and change in the leadership of the Illinois House of Representatives.
And from that change in leadership, hopefully change will occur within the Democratic Party of Illinois to end their coordinated war on hard-working, law-abiding residents of our state.
Who was the last shooting victim of a 50 call? Or a saw? I’ll tell you, no one in the US, only at war. Fun bans are for the sole purpose of protecting government agents that want to violate you’re privacy by inspecting your home any time they choose. Stay out Democrat/Communist.
Gun*
I kinda agree with your first statement Tom, I have fun shooting my guns. So it would be a Fun ban.
“In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.
Speech, Constitutional Convention (1787-06-29), from Max Farrand’s Records of the Federal Convention of 1787, vol. I [1] (1911), p. 465
“{T]o avoid the slightest interference with the right of conscience or the functions of religion, so wisely exempted from civil jurisdiction; to preserve in their full energy the other salutary provisions in behalf of private and personal rights, and of the freedom of the press; to observe economy in public expenditures; to liberate the public resources by an honorable discharge of the public debts; to keep within the requisite limits a standing military force, always remembering that an armed and trained militia is the firmest bulwark of republics — that without standing armies their liberty can never be in danger, nor with large ones safe… ”
— James Madison, First Inaugural Address (1809-03-04)
Second, the purpose of the armed, citizen Militia, was to serve as the ultimate check and balance against the State.
“[I]f circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights and those of their fellow citizens.”
— The Federalist, No. 29 – Alexander Hamilton
Makes me glad I moved out of Illinois years ago to move to Arizona, I now look at the Glock on my hip 24/7 and leaning against the front door one of my AK47s Here in AZ its no big deal
Quick question. How many police officers are you willing to lose confiscating them? Come and Take Them.
If the State government and our elected officials are afraid of the weapons I personally own in 2012…
… This means the second amendment still works, as intended, after 221 years.
I’m glad I voted with my feet and moved away from the fascist state of Illinois. I too live in AZ where I and many other responsible individuals are trusted by our state to carry either concealed or openly.
I feel much safer here than I ever did back there.
