FPS Russia’s wildly popular YouTube channel is very popular and quite hip, especially among the younger generation.  It’s ranked tenth in subscribers and has over half a billion views, according to the folks at Vidstatsx.

Congrats to him, but unfortunately, police found his manager (who was also the FFL who got him all his neat toys) tied to a chair and executed in recent days.  The manager is not Mr. FPS Russia…

Body Found in Carnesville Identified

January 7, 2013

(92.1 WLHR) – In Carnesville, not much is known yet about the death of a Kentucky man found late last Thursday  on Hayes Road.

According to  Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas, the body of 32-year old  Keith Ratliff of Frankfort, Kentucky was found about 5:45p Thursday evening.

At the time, authorities would not release any information until the victim’s relatives had been notified. On Sunday, Thomas said Ratliff’s body was discovered after a 911 call.

There’s more here.

  1. I feel like I walked in in the middle of a conversation.

    can someone please explain?

    1. what’s an fps? Is that the same thing as fps russia?

    2. why is “manager” in quotes? What is it supposed to mean?

    3. what’s the kentucky connection, if it’s russia?

    4. if it’s russia, why do we care?

    5. who’s keith retliff?

    6. why are the so-called “authorities” so secretive about it?

    7. why on GSL?

    8. what’s vidstax and who cares?

Sorry, I have NO FRICKING idea wha tthis is all about. \

AND< I am gravely concerned that I'm somehow missing out on something that might dramatically affect my life!

  2. I’ll try to answer a few of your questions.
    1. FPS, in this instance, is short for First Person Shooter
    2. “manager” is in quotes because the deceased does little managing. As the article indicates he is primarily responsible in acquiring firearms that most of us would love to handle.
    3. FPS Russia’s FFL dealer lived in Kentucky.
    4. It’s not Russian, but that doesn’t mean you should care.
    5. Keith Retliff is the “manager”/ffl holder/deceased.
    6. Probably because it’s an active murder investigation.
    7. This is on GSL because, like it or not, FPS Russia is a widely known (on the internet) firearms enthusias. His actions (sadly) affect all gun owners.
    8. Vidstax, I would assume, has something to do with tracking popular, read profitable, youtube pages. However, I didn’t care to take the time to google it.
