Jesse Jackson is calling for the Department of Homeland Security to patrol Chicago’s streets.
(Reuters) – Civil rights leader Jesse Jackson and relatives of victims of fatal shootings in Chicago urged President Barack Obama on Saturday to come back to his hometown and address the gun violence plaguing the city.
Before a march on the city’s South Side, Jackson, a former Democratic presidential candidate, said America’s third most populous city needed more help than Mayor Rahm Emanuel and police superintendent Garry McCarthy could offer.
“When the president shows up, it shows ultimate national seriousness,” said Jackson, a Chicago resident. He also called for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to help patrol the streets of Chicago.
What’s Jesse’s proposal, aside from asking for federal agents without jurisdiction in state-level crimes to patrol the streets?
Chicago (Tribune) – A woman died Sunday night during a dispute with a family member in the Gresham neighborhood and detectives were questioning a family member, police said.
Terika Moore, 25, initially appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma to the head inside her home in the 7700 block of South Morgan Street, authorities said.
Paramedics found Moore unreponsive around 6:50 p.m. Sunday. She was taken to Saint Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center, where she was pronounced dead at 8:01 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office…
The Cook County medical examiner’s office determined that the woman died from a pulmonary thromboembolism and ruled her death natural.

Chicago (Tribune) – A Democratic Party-backed judge who won re-election in November while facing battery charges was found not guilty Monday — by reason of insanity.
The insanity verdict could aid the judge’s effort to return to the bench.
…Testimony revealed that Brim has been hospitalized five times after suffering mental breakdowns in the 18 years since she was first elected. In 2004, Brim was carried off the bench at a suburban courthouse after she froze while addressing her courtroom before starting the day, standing mute until someone called paramedics, her attorney said.
Brim, 54, was diagnosed years ago with a bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder, which means she experiences delusions and hallucinations, psychiatrist Mathew Markos testified. The symptoms can be kept in check with medication, he testified.
…Eventually Judge Pamela Hill-Veal, who is Brim’s cousin, came to the lockup and answered questions for Brim, telling police Brim had no history of mental illness, Deputy Deborah Salzman testified. Hill-Veal even helped Brim sign her name on a medical questionnaire, Salzman said.
Is it any wonder criminals run roughshod over Chicago’s residents and the city’s visitors?

I grew up in the greater Chicagoland area. Decades ago, it was an asylum full of inner-city crazies and ‘poor-me victims’ waiting to take over. Now the crazies are running the asylum and demanding reparations from hundreds of years ago.

Unfortunately, homicide in Chicago is becoming a natural consequence of living in a ‘gun free zone.’ So why not list all 500+ homicides which occurred there this past year as ‘natural’?
Source from South Holland police department reveals the details of Judge Brim’s shocking racial rant in open court just one day before her arrest. Judge Brim was presiding over traffic court call at Markham Courthouse on Thursday. Source tells blogger that Judge Brim suddenly stop proceedings just minutes in and began to chastise the white officers in front of the predominantly black audience. Source says judge brim left the bench and started to preach to the audience and taunt the officers with racial slurs. Source says that judge brim accused the officers of targeting blacks and hispanic drivers. Source says that she pointed at the officers and said “im tired of these white racist cops targeting you” and “these are the people that raped our ancestors” to cheers from the audience. Source said that some of members of the audience even stood up and Joined her hurling racial insults at the officers. Source says the officers remained silent but were very concerned the for the safety of the courtroom. Security rushed to the courtroom while Acting Presiding Judge Flaherty finally was able to get Judge Brim to leave the Courtroom.
