While the city’s residents enjoy an orgy of violence, they also get to enjoy the nation’s highest gas prices.
How sweet is that?
CHICAGO (CBS) — While the rest of the country, including Hawaii, enjoys the lowest springtime gas prices in three years, Chicago is leading the nation with the highest.
The average is now $4.25 a gallon.
As if you needed another reason to avoid the cesspool of Chicago.
“Mile after magnificent mile.” That’s the Illinois tourism industry’s slogan.
But that isn’t the case in Chicago.
Chicago’s is: Mayhem on every stinkin’ block.
Why do we say that?
The Chicago Tribune has a wonderful little crime scene map that you can pull up here. It shows the “neighborhoods” of Chicago and the major crimes reported and their locations in the last 30 days.
Here’s an example:
And another.
And another from one of the safest neighborhoods in Chicago, excluding property crimes.
Most of us have seen the map of Texas where each orange dot represents a gun owner, right?
Well, Chicago could release a map of Chicago where each red dot is a major crime and we suspect it would look a lot like this, only shaped like Chicago.
Is Chicago a place you should want to visit or vacation?
It shouldn’t if you’re a reasonable and prudent person about approaching your personal safety.
Which brings us to Rahm.
The day after Chicago has a horrid day…
Chicago (Tribune) – At least three people were killed and 17 wounded in shootings across Chicago overnight as the city saw its warmest weather in seven months.
…Mayor Ballerina Emanuel is out spinning that orgy of violent crime into “progress” reducing “gun” violence in Chicago. Progress?
CHICAGO (CBS) — Mayor Emanuel still acknowledges progress in the city’s efforts to reduce gun violence in Chicago. But, he says he’s concerned about the spate of violence overnight, reports WBBM Political Editor Craig Dellimore.
And it’s not just Ballerina man-child. It’s the Streetlight Assassin police chief as well (from Second City Cop):
Nice Job Garry
Tonight on the Channel 5 10 PM news, Garry was bragging about a 40% drop in killings.Immediately afterward, upwards of fifteen, possibly as many as twenty people managed to get shot on the first 80 degree day since October of last year
So, there you have it.
Here’s your itinerary when visiting Chicago: Pay big bucks to fill up your gas tank, then get your car broken into, and then get mugged and maybe injured or killed at the hands of brazen thugs in Chicago.
Stay away from Chicago. Nothing in that town is worth dying for.
I would say there is one thing worth dying for in ChiTown.
I would take a bullet right between my eyes defending the rights that belong to Otis McDonald – in a heartbeat I would.
Please go to Chitcago then, assrak, and defend Otis M. from the thugs in his neighborhood and the worse thugs in the ballerina’s admin. What are ya waitin’ for? GIT-ER-DUN dimwit! YOU DON’ NEED NO STEENKIN’ “PERMISSION SLIP”, JUS CARRY LIKE THE REST OF THE THUGS IN CHI-TOWN, THEY DON’ NEED ON STEENKIN’ FOID CARD!! GO FER IT!!
I’ve been avoiding Chitcago for years. Interstate 39 is a nice alternative for getting up to Wisconsin, even if it is a little longer.
This website has oversimplified the gun violence issue in Chicago far too often. I do agree Rahm is doing a horrible job but there is so much more that goes into it other than what this site has said. It is extremely rare that a violent incident happens to a random stranger. These are rival gangs going at each other. Rahm is a part of this “Renaissance movement” where they’re closing schools and turning them over to private charter schools. They’re selling it as better for educational opportunities but rival gangs are being forced into already crowded schools. They join gangs basically because of the lack of police force there for protection. If a group assumes you’re alone and not with their group, they attack you because they assume you’re with the other gang. The spike coincides with these school closings and gangs crossing over each other’s territories.
Not saying take away guns because most of Chicago’s guns come from the South and Indiana. Read more into Chicago before you sound off about the situation. I feel safer here than I did living in Texas but I do live on the northside.
