Lipservice FAIL: “Leaders” call for gang-bangers to stop violence; the violence continues…

Champaign, IL has been hit with a rash of shootings this past weekend.  Local gun grabbers urged “concerned” citizens to show up for a showy press conference to demand gang bangers quit shooting at one another (insert laugh out loud here).

If you are available, we are asking you to stand as Champaign County Community Members to CEASE FIRE NOW! No more bloodshed NOW! on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:30am in the Champaign City Council Chambers, 102 N. Neil St., Champaign. We want to stop any further bloodshed and will exhaust every available option to achieve this goal.

Every available option?

Including allowing the good citizens of Champaign County to carry their own safety rescue tool to defend themselves against the individuals committing these Chicago-style violent attacks?

We didn’t think so.

But the good news is we’re going to be exploring just this option.

These 18-20-year-old thugs shooting at every provocation will soon be running up against trained civilians who actually know how to use their guns.

The smart thugs will behave themselves.

The not-so-smart ones will find themselves assuming room temperature.

It’s Darwin at work and frankly a happy ending for all.

‘Cease fire now’: C-U speakers call for end of gun violence

Champaign (News-Gazette) — Community members are pleading with those responsible for this weekend’s shootings to “cease fire now” and stop the violence before an innocent bystander gets hurt.

A number of groups called a morning press conference on Monday to address the violence and to ask residents to take responsibility for their actions and for their families.

“The message is clear, concise and with brevity: Cease fire now,” said Herb Burnett, who owns Suits by Soouljah on Bradley Avenue.

UPDATE:

Poor Herbie Burnett, the owner of “Suits by Soouljah”.  Apparently the layabout thugs and bangers weren’t out of bed yet to hear his impassioned plea to stop the violence – which is kind of rich from a guy who seems to be marketing to and profiting from the ghetto / gangster / hip-hop lifestyle .

As an aside, yesterday he claimed these scumbags were “our future”.

“You young men are our future, and by shooting each other, you are causing self-inflicted wounds,” Burnett said. “Our future depends on you. We are expecting you to lead us. We need you.”

These young men he is speaking of are not leaders.  They are shitbirds, pardon the French.

They aren’t leaders.  They are asocial human debris who celebrate the hip-hop lifestyle of misogyny and violence.  They and their families celebrate ignorance by eschewing education and mocking anyone seeking to pull themselves out of the ghetto.  That’s not a leader, Herbie.

Anyway, “you young people” didn’t hear his pleas.

Champaign (News-Gazette) — Champaign police are investigating a report of shots fired in Champaign on Monday evening.

Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said that a car drove up to a location near Fifth and Vine streets in Champaign at 7:45 p.m. Monday. Somebody from the car began to fire multiple shots, and then the car drove away.
