Chicago (Tribune) – The 66-year-old proprietor of a Gold Coast framing company was gunned down over the weekend at the Southwest Side factory complex where he had worked for 30 years, police and family members said.
Described by his son as a jack of all trades and animal lover, Herbert Goode was the owner of Silver Cloud Galleries, a custom framing company with a storefront at 20 W. Ohio St.
He was a donor and volunteer to animal welfare organizations and had been active in local school boards and the Boy Scouts of America, his son, Alex Goode, said in a phone interview on Sunday.
“He touched a lot of lives,” Goode, 26, said of his slain father. “It’s a blow to the community.”
But the “gun free zone” signs are supposed to stop this sort of thing!!!

Chicago’s had a “gun free zone” for years… and a homicide rate rivaling a war zone.
The citizens of Chicago deserve the pols they elect.
The only problem I have with it is these same schmucks want to export their Chicago-style gun laws to the rest of us.

No offense here, but judging from the mans’ appearance, his surname, the neighborhood and the line of work, I’d say he was part and parcel of the constituency that elected the democrap “leaders” of chit-cago for the last fifty years.
In other words, and do correct me if I’m wrong here, but he got what he deserved? He paid the piper? He bought and paid for his own demise? He turnabout-ed-is-fair-played?
Sorry, but I gotta kinda celebrate just a bit when those who cause the problems end up paying the price. It’s small satisfactin but satisfaction nonetheless.
