Hip, Hip, HOOORAY!
One of the most despicable people in America died last night. Fred Phelps, the founder of the utterly detestable Westboro Baptist Church, stole his last breath of oxygen.
The question is, will people picket his funeral with signs that say, “God hates Westboro”?
For the most part, probably not. Although if they picketed the funeral of one of my loved ones, I’d be there. “Do unto others as they’ve done unto you…” sort of thing.
May he burn in Hell for all eternity.
TOPEKA, Kan. (Fox4KC) — According to several media sources, Fred Phelps, founder of Topeka-based Westboro Baptist Church, passed away Wednesday night.
WIBW-TV in Topeka said one of his sons confirmed Phelps died before midnight.
Phelps Sr., whose church is widely known for its anti-gay sentiments and protests at military funerals, was being cared for in a Shawnee County facility, according to Westboro Baptist Church spokesman Steve Drain.
Members of the church frequently protest at funerals of soldiers with signs containing messages like “Thank God for dead soldiers” and “Thank God for 9/11,” claiming the deaths are God’s punishment for American immorality and tolerance of homosexuality and abortion.
I wouldn’t suggest picketing or protesting, just a giant tailgate party.
Ye may still pray for his eternal soul. He’s not in Hell yet; he’s in Purgatory. Ye may also still pray that God touches the lives and souls of his “followers,” who are too swayed by hate in the moment. God loves them too. And he loves us too.
Sometimes, despicable acts such as the protests this low-life phelps instigated produce good things in retaliation. The “Patriot Guard Riders” organized because of phelps’ misguided protests and they are proud to make a showing at the funerals of our fallen heros. Many of the Patriot Guard Riders are Veterans themselves and place themselves between the funeral procession and the “protesters”, making their presence as unobtrusive as possible, but stand by to honor those fallen soldiers and or Veterans.
May God bless our Veterans, soldiers, and their families for their service to our great country. May He also forgive the misguided fred phelps if he asks forgiveness for his sins. If he does not ask forgiveness, may he burn in hades for eternity for his despicable acts.
Thank God for the patriot rider’s,they kept these people with low morals from disrupting local funerals of fallen servicemen
