To gun owners, the proven benefits of gun ownership are as obvious as the fact that water is wet.

To those who have been conditioned not to like guns, these benefits are dismissed reflexively.

Gun bigotry is no different than racial bigotry – it’s a learned behavior.  No one is born a racist and no one is born to hate guns.

We bring you the story of a formerly anti-gun couple in New Jersey needed a hard and brutal lesson to open their minds to the benefits of firearm ownership.

James Dittrich and Meredith Duffy didn’t like guns.  “I didn’t want a gun. I specifically didn’t want one,” Dittrich told ABC News.   No longer.  “I was very much opposed to hav[ing] one, and I guess I got the realization that the police really can’t protect you. They can respond, and they can protect you once they get there. But, you’re on your own.”

How did James and Meredith come to this new “realization” that police can’t protect you and that you’re on your own until they arrive?

The two endured a savage home invasion attack and the male half was beaten senseless while his girlfriend called the police.  The girlfriend, Meredith Duffy, recalled “they were just beating him so absolutely mercilessly and brutally.   And the one kept yelling, ‘Shoot him, shoot him, shoot him.’”

How badly was Dittrich beaten?  He suffered a broken nose, shattered cheekbones, and the fracture of the bones around one of his eye sockets.

The couple also believe that Duffy would have been raped if the male half hadn’t fought back in desperation.

After the attack, the couple left East Orange, NJ and moved to more gun-friendly Ohio, where they feel safer as two of America’s newest gun owners.  More than a year after that attack, East Orange police still have not made an arrest in the attack.

Guns save innocent life.

This is the message that Guns Save Life has been delivering to middle America via our Burma Shave-style highways signs.  Two of our two-dozen-plus active slogans are “ROSES ARE RED/MY GUN IS BLUE/I SLEEP SAFE/HOW ABOUT YOU?” and “DIALED 9-1-1/AND I’M ON HOLD/SURE WISH I HAD/THAT GUN I SOLD”.

You do not have to suffer a horrific beating or narrowly avoid a gang rape before availing yourself to the proven benefits of firearm ownership.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A HELPLESS VICTIM.

Empower yourself.

Become a gun owner.

Get training.

  1. I’m from Australia how about you, we can’t carry guns but I gots a few
    God bless America

  2. “Gun bigotry is no different than racial bigotry – it’s a learned behavior. No one is born a racist and no one is born to hate guns.”

    Ain’t that the truth.

My kids were taught to appreciate the value of a gun for self-defense.

I even sent them to get training in the past year or so, something I should have done when they were teenagers.

Why is there never any discussion of the lives shattered or lost because of gun control?

  3. I still don’t understand how people can be anti-gun in the first place.
How did we as a nation become some of the dumbest people on the planet. People in other nations laugh at the People of the USA and think were just a bunch of war mongering uninformed fools
