Here’s a write up from GunNews Magazine following last year’s event.
Guns Save Life was proud to be a co-sponsor of the Fourth Annual Central Illinois Preparedness Expo held at the DeWitt County Sportsmen’s Club just east of Clinton, IL on Saturday, August 10, 2013.
Nearly 300 people came through the gates to see 16 presentations on all sorts of preparedness and self-reliance topics from a host of instructors and presenters.
Topics discussed included canning, first aid, personal protection firearm selection, counter-knife defense, disaster and emergency preparedness, outdoor preparedness cooking, self-defense law, wilderness survival, basic emergency preparedness supplies, alternative power, bug out packs, primitive pioneer skills, water purification, long-term fuel storage and master gardening.
This was the fourth year of the event, first held in Urbana, IL in 2009, which saw roughly 35 people attend. This year, with an attendance of over 300, shows word is getting out about emergency preparedness and self-reliance and a growing interest among the general population. It’s also a clean double from last year’s attendance.
Organizer Marge Maier of the DeWitt County Sportsmen’s Club did a magnificent job lining up presenters and planning the event, working with local emergency and disaster service officials along with Guns Save Life, the United States Rifleman’s Association, GSL Defense Training, LLC, and Live Free USA to help make this year’s event a huge success.
Sponsors this year include the DeWitt County Sportsman’s Club, Guns Save Life, Live Free USA and GSL Defense Training.

I had a great time last year and was really looking forward to this but it turns out that I won’t be able to attend. I’m kinda bummed about it but I hope everyone has a great time and learns alot!
Oh, I joined GSL last year at the event. Will I get a notice to renew in the mail or something?
