Allstate’s “Good Life Anthem” commercial is a home run.
As they note in the description of the spot at YouTube, “People live for good. The fortunate truth is, more good happens in life than bad. And we believe an insurance company shouldn’t wait for something bad to happen to do something good.”
No, we don’t work for Allstate, but you have to recognize good stuff when you see it. This one is a work of art and it’s very applicable to the benefits of gun ownership too.

There are man-eating sharks in every ocean.
But we still swim.
Every second, somewhere in the world, lightning strikes.
But we still play in the rain.
Poisonous snakes can be found in 49 of the 50 states.
But we still go looking for adventure.
A car can crash. A house can crumble.
But we still drive – and we love coming home.
Because I think deep down we know – all the bad things that can happen in life – they can’t stop us from making our lives… good.
And we might add:
Bad people sometimes use guns to hurt people.
But we know they save millions from crime each year.
I too saw the ad but didn’t make the connection.
It has a whole new meaning now. Thanks.
