What is a Guns Save Life meeting?
Guns Save Life meetings upbeat and exciting. They are fun, friendly and informative for attendees.
We start with the Pledge of Allegiance, then have a President’s report followed by an Executive Director’s report. The ED’s report will include national, state and local news, a federal and state legislative update and other information of interest.
We have a main speaker each month, and we often say that history comes to life at Guns Save Life meetings as people who were present at historical times and places relate their experiences first-hand to audience members. Other speakers are interesting or inspiring in their own right. Some examples of great speakers have included home invasion victims, 9/11 survivors, veterans from the Bataan Death March and the Indianapolis sinking, former POWs, First Marine Breakout veterans, Afghanistan and Iraq veterans, Iranian Hostage Crisis alumnus, firearms industry insiders, prolific firearm collectors, and business owners. Sparingly, we even have state and federal level politicians.
Tech time brings a particular gun or type of guns or firearms accessories on display and discussed in a technical presentation. Better yet, with few exceptions, you can even touch and hold them. We often have museum-quality specimens of rare or unusual guns, and some of these technical presentations are highly educational. Some guns we’ve had included everything from miniatures to cannons, sub-guns to chunk guns, precision shooting rifles to blunderbusses and everything in between. Oftentimes, the guns displayed have historical meaning. We’ve had a half-million dollar collection of Lugers, guns from the American Revolution and Civil War and just about every war or conflict before or after.
You’ll find great people, good fun and lots of information. You’ll leave upbeat and excited to further our right to keep and bear arms to protect and defend innocent life.
If you want to see an example of what a GSL meeting is all about, visit this page: GSL MEETINGS: You miss a meeting, you miss a lot. “I SURVIVED!” home invasion aftermath.
And we will give away a gun. The drawing gun for our first GSL Chicagoland meeting will tentatively be a Glock 19.
There are opportunities for motivated individuals to help out existing volunteers to help bring GSL meetings to other regions of the Chicagoland area.
Join us!
You’ll have a good time.
The meeting should be concluded by 8pm at the latest.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Future meetings will take place on weekday evenings, however we wanted this first meeting to be available to all in Chicagoland without the complication of weekday evening drive traffic.
Send an RSVP email to RSVP@GunsSaveLife.com if you’re able to attend. Note if you’re planning on eating, so we can have an idea how much food to have the caterer prepare. Comments, suggestions, etc. are also welcome at that email address.
You know, some are going to say you are contributing to the violence in Chicago.
I damn sure hope so.
Especially the criminal class.
