More and more Americans are recognizing the life-saving benefits of firearms ownership against America’s criminal class.

America was founded on rugged individualism and self-responsibility.   One aspect of that is personal defense, of course.

You can buy a gun, and have your family learn gun safety and how to use said firearm, and life safer, more peaceful lives.  Better still is the feeling of empowerment that you won’t have to be a helpless victim if America’s criminal class decides they want to hurt or kill your loved ones.

Despite the growing numbers of Americans embracing the life-saving benefits of gun ownership, there are still some pockets of willful ignorance in America.  Places where low-information politicians, elected by low-information voters – go out of their way to make their communities less safe.  These same people wring their hands and wonder why violence happens in their cities.

In California, for instance, instead of keeping violent criminals locked up (or executing them), they release them onto the streets.  Instead of catching and deporting illegal aliens, especially those with the slightest criminal tendencies, they release them back onto the streets.  Instead of promoting issuance of concealed carry licenses so the good guys can protect themselves and their families, most major California population centers are busy fighting to restrict carry rights – even those recognized in the courts.  Instead of getting guns into the hands of good people, California government bodies are busy destroying thousands of perfectly good, potentially life-saving tools.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com)  —   The LA County Sheriff’s Department says more than 3,400 weapons and firearms will be melted down on Monday as part of the 22nd annual Gun Melt.

The Gun Melt is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Gerdau Steel Mill in Rancho Cucamonga.

Sheriff Jim McDonnell and Gerdau officials will oversee the destruction of approximately 3,400 weapons confiscated within Los Angeles County by personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and ten participating law enforcement agencies.
