It happened Sunday.

You didn’t see this in the New York Times.

From Red Alert Politics

Pastor John D. Johnson III knew there was a problem from the moment Aziz entered the church. The would-be terrorist was sweating profusely and wearing camouflage pants and a tactical vest, tattoos covered his arms and neck, and Johnson noticed the outline of a gun underneath his shirt.

“Every hair on my neck just stood up. It was almost like you could just like feel the presence of just negative energy,” Johnson told the Telegraph.

The mass had ended, but several parishioners were still lingering to discuss a fall festival they were planning, and the pastor was working with his teenage son in a private room.

Johnson brought Aziz into the conference room to speak privately where he launched into a full-scale rant about being a “man of Islam” and the demons that chased him.

Aziz said that Allah had commanded him to kill Christians and Jews who did not convert to Islam.

The pastor played it cool, Johnson was a former parole officer who specialized in verbal de-escalation, crisis prevention and had experience dealing with mentally ill offenders.

He asked Aziz to calm down and put himself between the Islamist and the door to protect the other members of the church. Johnson got him a cold drink of water and sat and prayed with him to talk it out.
“I never gave him the power of feeling that he was in control, that I was frightened,” the pastor said. “I just continued to engage, but I was very cautious not to raise my voice or make any quick moves.”

As Aziz became more irate, Johnson assured him he would take care of everything but needed to take care of his child first. He quietly told everyone to leave immediately.

Johnson decided to leave with his fellow church members, but as he loaded into his car, Aziz appeared at the front door and flashed a peace sign with his two fingers.

Law enforcement was called, and Aziz was arrested, but a church deacon later found a note that the would-be murder left behind.

  1. Praise Jesus, indeed.

Another angry Islamic nutjob, possibly high on something (profuse sweating), going to go on an rampage. Haven’t seen that before, have we?

Islam is at war with Western civilization. What will it take for the majority of intelligent, thinking Americans to figure it out?

  2. I must say, that pastor was a whole lot more calm and collected than I would have been.

I would have struck that scumbag down with a prodigious application of ballistic therapy…

    Sam

  3. Many, many lessons learned here. Situational awareness. Staying calm. Issuing orders to others to help protect them. Granted this Pastor had some previous training with individuals such as this man, but still recognized that something was amiss and handled it. This could have had a completely different ending…..

  4. Do I understand this correctly? He noticed a troubled guy with a gun, and the guy sat there the whole time, and the pastor did not act on it in any way until the mass was over? That could easily have been too little, too late.
Yes, it’s great he did eventually take care of the situation, but he was darn lucky there weren’t dead people there before that happened.

Is that what they would teach in threat management?

  5. This is an entire mess where evrybody got lucky! You do not play around and try to save jerks like this! how many more fools have to think they can change evil before they realize the utter futility of their actions- attempts- hopes- dreams? I doubt this jerk has any connection beyond just extremely dangerous with his trugger tripped. Danger does not just come armed with a weapon but can be in many forms. No the pstors actions are not viable threat management or response. reality is different. isolste, total control, end it of necessary. Maybe we might want to ask why would islam be at war with the west and if so what next? How did it get to that pont if it is true? If we want to have any hope then we need to figure out what triggers a jerk like this and what comes next given over 2 million of those of us in the miltsry went to middle east alresdy are now physiologicaly trashed just as we left several million non-combatants who live in the middle east and the environment trashed.
