More news has come out from yesterday’s Umpqua college massacre, including at least one story of heroism and bravery.

The spotlight of publicity has also shown brightly on incidences of shameful behavior of part of the college’s administration before and during the event as well.

We also learned more – as everyone expected – about the hate-filled individual who committed this atrocity with an eye towards becoming famous.  Spoiler alert:  GUNS SAVE LIFE WILL NEVER PUBLISH HIS NAME OR LIKENESS in this story, or future stories.  He will forever be known as “SCUMBAG’S NAME REDACTED” to us.

Here’s the rundown.

HEROISM AND BRAVERY.

Chris Mintz, a U.S. Army combat veteran who has done some cage fighting was shot multiple times “going after the shooter” to save lives.

SHAMEFUL BEHAVIOR OF UMPQUA COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION

Campus carry, by Oregon State law, is permissible.

That’s right:  Umpqua Community College was a “GUN FREE” zone by choice, not by law.

From the Campus Code of Conduct:

Somehow I don’t see Umpqua Community College officials granting written permission to concealed carry license holders.

“Think Progress”, a far leftist website, is working to dispel the notion that Umpua campus was a gun free campus by citing a “Campus Safety and Security” webpage instead of the Student Code of Conduct:

Why is “Think Progress” working so hard to dispel the notion that it was a “GUN FREE” campus?  Because it’s so damning to the gun control narrative!

It gets worse:  The campus had exactly one UNARMED security officer.

Campus administration considered arming their security, but in the end decided not to because it “might change the culture” at the campus.  Where do they get these simple-minded imbeciles?  Nevermind:  Massachusetts.

The Oregon college where at least 10 people were killed in a shooting rampage Thursday had in recent months considered hiring an armed security guard — but ultimately decided against the proposal, the retired president said.

“We talked about that over the last year because we were concerned about safety on campus,” Joe Olson, who retired as president of Umpqua Community College at the end of June, told The New York Times. “The campus was split 50-50. We thought we were a very safe campus, and having armed security officers on campus might change the culture.”

Olson, a former deputy sheriff in Massachusetts, said the discussion about an armed guard had not been prompted by a particular threat. But he said there was a general fear of potential violence. He told the Times he did not believe a guard could stop a gunman.

“If you want to come on the campus and you want to shoot five people, you are going to do that before our security would arrive,” he told the newspaper.

Here’s a clue, Mr. Massachusetts:  The mere presence of armed resistance will deter most of these spree killers because armed resistance means they aren’t going to be able to rack up a new “high score” of victims to become famous!

That’s not all…

As it was, there were reports of military veterans and others willing to engage the shooters with improvised weapons and their bare hands from other parts of the campus, but college officials stopped them.

He went out to help the victims.
But officials barred him from helping the victims as they were being gunned down.

In the end, even before the victims were carried out, President Barack Hussein Obama was personally appearing in front of the press advocating for gun control.  While Obama mentioned himself 28 times in the 12 minute speech, he made not a single mention of the fact that gun control was what made this campus such an easy hunting ground for the mentally deranged leftist who committed this atrocity.

THE KILLER.

He was a 26-year-old f***-up who lived with his mommy.  He was single, and a social misfit with head problems.  He went to a special school for those with “emotional problems”.  He was a loser who craved fame and notoriety.  He considered himself “non-religious”.  Gee, who would have thought after he was asking students at the college to stand up and state their religion?  If his victims said they were Christian, they got shot in the head.  If they said nothing or something other than Christianity, he shot them in the legs.

On his “MySpace” page, he has two (count ’em, two) friends, he praised and admired terrorists.  One of his friends (we’ll let you guess which one) praises Islamists and writes “kill the Jews”.

The Umpqua killer liked Nazis.  And Nazism is far left, not far right.  Nazi was the abbreviation of the National Socialist German Workers Party.  Socialists are godless leftists, not conservative Christians.

He admired the killer in Virginia of the two TV news reporters – an angry gay black man who loved Obama.  The scumbag wrote this of the senseless murders:
