NBC Chicago gives us the story:
A new report declares an area of Chicago as “America’s Mass-Shooting Capital” and described it as more dangerous to live in than some of the world’s most murderous countries, according to a new report.
West Garfield Park, which has a population of 18,000, saw 21 murders in 2014, according to The Daily Beast’s report. This makes the area’s homicide rate 116 per 100,000 people.
West Garfield Park is a low-income neighborhood, primarily black (96%) where government welfare checks are a way of life. Crime there is sky high and anyone who is anyone has left, leaving those behind who cannot afford to move or those with community ties behind. The population has plummeted from 70,000 in 1970 to less than 18,000 today.
The law-abiding residents who remain could probably benefit from legal firearms ownership and some ballistic therapy for the violent hoodlums who seem to run unchecked through the neighborhood, undoubtedly terrorizing the good people who remain.
What NBC Chicago didn’t discuss in their story (nor the Daily Beast, a far-left news blog, where NBC Chicago got much of their information) was how there have already been 38 homicides in that neighborhood this year.
Doing some public school, non-Common Core math, that means that SO FAR this year, their homicide rate is 210/100,000 or 2.33 times that of Honduras.
Thug life. Ain’t it grand?
Nobody deserves to be terrorized by America’s criminal class. Firearm ownership is the great equalizer.
People have to stand up for themselves and protect and defend their lives and property from criminal attack.
I’m sure Blowbama will be going there shortly to give a speech. How many of these would be just like his kids?
What was that thing in Texas where they provided shotguns and some training to decent families in poor, crime-infested neighborhoods?
This might be a great neighborhood to implement said program!
Of course, to the mommas of these monsters, you would be called all kinds of names. After all, you provided the law-abiding peeps the guns used to kill their kin.
And their little babies “dint do nuffin” to deserve getting shot. Their chillins were just turning their lives around. Yep, they were going to church and everything after ten years of raping, robbing and pillaging through their neighborhoods – their fellow blacks being the victims of 95% of their crime.
With almost three-quarters of the people leaving after 40-some years, I wonder how many decent people are left there? Soon, the place will just be a third-world hell hole if it isn’t already

Destroying innocent lives and reducing our culture to rubble in the name of fairness – that’s what modern liberalism is all about.

Lets not forget Blago had a hand in this mayhem before he went to prison. Blago pushed through legislation that prohibited the inexpensive zinc framed small caliber Raven/Davis/Cobra pistols from being sold in Illinois. This made self defense more expensive for poor folk, AND made certain that asshats now shoot bigger and better guns at everyone. Where there were as many or more shootings 20 years ago, lots of guys got a 22 or 25 in the butt, now get a 40 or 45 because thats what is more and more common. Just another unintended consequence of silly anti gun policies….
I read your piece about Florida. If we had 10-20-lofe in IL, these ghettp thugs could rot away in prison instead of terrorizing and stealing from their neighbors.
Better yet, arm the good people and let them use taxpayer relief shots.
