A good day and a good first meeting with Governor Rauner.

  1. Glad to see it, John. I think he’s on our side so let’s make sure he sees reason to stay on this side.

GSL and the 2nd Amendment supporters in Illinois represent a large number of ACTIVE voters. Keep him aware of that.

  2. Nice job getting face time with the Governor. There have been a whole lot of people who have been trying that since shortly after the election without a lot of luck.

  3. I don’t recall you getting your picture taken with the last governor. Invite this one to IGOLD.

    1. I don’t think the last governor would have been anywhere near an armed civilian, either.

Then again, the last governor wouldn’t have shown up at a non-political event to thank wounded vets for their service.

The first thing Governor Rauner did when he showed up was thank the police for their service, and then he entered the room with the vets and spent time talking with each one.

      The best one:

Rauner: “So, tell me about your hunting experience…”

Warrior wearing a prosthetic foot: “Well, I started with birds and deer. Then I hunted humans and now I’m back to deer.”

The governor just smiled and kept the conversation going, without mentioning the human hunting remark, wishing the young gent luck in getting himself a big buck.

Rauner was 100% classy, deferred attention directed towards him to the soldiers and Marines and went out of his way to keep it informal and not about him or politics while he was around the HOOAH peeps.

      John

  5. That would be nice to see the governor at a Guns Save Life meeting in Springfield. That would be more than any of the other gun groups have done.
