WIN! Ceasefire keeps casualties to 52 shot, 9 killed
On Friday of this past weekend, gun control activists (your gun grabbers) and mothers gathered in front of St. Sabina’s church to call for peace and for more failed gun control. Of course, the media were there like lap-dogs, drinking from that tall glass of propaganda Kool-Aid.
Chicago moms call for ceasefire on Mother’s Day
CHICAGO (WLS) — Some mothers whose lives have been forever changed by violence are calling for peace on the streets of Chicago this Mother’s Day weekend. They are hoping other moms won’t have to endure the grief and loss they’ve experienced. In Auburn Gresham, these mothers do not celebrate Mother’s Day as they once had. On the Friday before Mother’s Day, they plead for the lives of other mothers’ sons and daughters.
“There are too many out here, just going through this. I don’t want to see another mother go through what I went through- twice. So please put the guns down,” said Delphine Cherry, the mother of two victims of gun violence.
“There is no pain like a mother’s pain to have to bury her child and have to leave that cemetery and have to leave that child there,” says Alice Thomas-Norris, the mother of Rolanda Marshall.
Next to the memorial for the hundreds of young people killed by gun violence, they pray for peace. On Friday, the mothers joined gun control advocates, including Father Michael Pfleger of nearby Saint Sabina Church.
That ceasefire went pretty well, because between Friday and early Monday morning, only 52 people got shot and there were 9 homicides. We’re glad it wasn’t a full-on battle-royal.
Dead armed robbers for gun control?
And then today, the Chicago Tribune has this story about a gathering on Mother’s Day to remember the slain so-called victims of gun violence.
On Mother’s Day, parents gather to remember children killed
(Chicago Tribune) – More than 400 small red flags, each emblazoned with the name of a son or daughter killed since last Mother’s Day, fluttered nearby as dozens of mothers gathered to remember their children.
Parents had come to spend Mother’s Day supporting each other and mourning together at an annual gathering outside St. Sabina Roman Catholic church in the Gresham neighborhood. Many also came to advocate for an end to gun violence.
Gee, two of those flags represented these two. Shot dead as they tried to rob a check cashing/convenience store in Chicago. Are these the sorts of guys Father Pfleger wants to use as poster children for promoting gun control? Because if they are, then it’s no wonder he’s not getting any traction.
How pathetic.
