HOOAH Deer Hunt for Heroes
Golf outing & Fundraising banquet
Here’s a reprint of Wendy Boch discussing her plans for the upcoming HOOAH Golf outing and Fundraising banquet coming up in Pontiac, IL on September 24th at a couple of the GSL meetings last month.
(Reprinted from GunNews) – Wendy visited a number of cities, talking about the upcoming HOOAH Deer Hunt for Heroes Golf Outing and Fundraising Banquet.
“We’re super excited this year,” Wendy said, barely able to contain her excitement for the upcoming events slated for Saturday, September 24th at the Pontiac / Elk’s Country Club in her hometown.
The event helps fund the HOOAH program which helps wounded soldiers (and marines) who have been separated from their units pending discharge because of injuries. The all-volunteer HOOAH program helps facilitate healing and mental recovery through hunting and fishing trips for servicemen – at no cost to them – as they are about to be reintegrated back into civilian life.
The third annual golf outing event will be held in Pontiac at the beautiful Elk’s Country Club. The dinner aspect will be open to all and take the form of a Friends of NRA-style banquet, with lots of great prizes with admission a mere $10 ticket per person.
Guns Save Life members and GSL Defense Training staff provided the lion’s share of volunteers for last year’s event and saw it to a huge success.
This year, many of the same people have already signed up to help. What’s more, donations are streaming in, including a number of significant contributions. Big R in Pontiac has donated a Springfield M1A rifle, Bremer Jewelry in Peoria/Bloomington has donated a very nice ($1500) diamond necklace. Those two big-ticket items are in the “Fire and Ice” drawing – with tickets at $10 each or 3 for $25.
Other firearms have been donated by each Rod and Bev Wolf. Wendy herself has donated a gun, and her husband John through GSL Defense Training has also donated one as well. The Bochs have also donated a YETI cooler John won at a Friends dinner and tickets are available for that as well.
Come help for a great cause

Donations over $250 (in kind included) will get you dinner tickets to this year’s banquet, and tickets to the invitation-only Hero Banquet this fall as well, and along with that chance to meet some this year’s soldiers at each event.

Please tell me that this is in no way affiliated with those low lifes at Wounded Warrior Project.
No way, no how. Not a penny goes to WWP and HOOAH is in NO WAY AFFILIATED with WWP.
