Winston Churchill made that line famous in World War II and it remains just as applicable today. In Shawnee, Kansas, John Simmons III and his buddy tried to carjack a young mother at the local Walmart. She was distracted, putting her infant child into a carseat when the dynamic duo struck to take things that didn’t belong to them. They beat her bloody as she tried to fight them off.
An unarmed good Samaritan heard the screams and saw the two thugs accosting the woman and ran to her aid. He got himself shot multiple times for his trouble.
A second good Samaritan, armed with more than a stern voice, saw what happened. He stopped his car, got out and dropped John Simmons III like a bad habit. BOOM! Dead Right There!
Simmons’ criminal co-conspirator then ran off like his hair was on fire.
Cops are crediting the two good Samaritans with saving the lives of the woman and her kid. Good Samaritan No. 1 has regained consciousness and is talking. While he’s in critical condition, it looks like he’ll live. The mom has been treated and released from the hospital.
John Simmons is still dead. The prognosis for him is for more of the same.
