Marco Rubio, the guy we all thought was a solid, freedom-loving Republican has dipped his toe into the gun control pool and found the water to his liking.  He’s introduced a bill to block the gun rights of people on secret government lists.

What a treasonous scumbag.

From The Truth About Guns

After the Pulse nightclub slaughter, failed Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio promised the parents of a Pulse victim that he would find out why the police department waited so long to confront the shooter, resulting in the needless deaths of so many people. Wait. Sorry. That’s not it. He promised to “improve our laws so it is more difficult for evil people to get ahold of guns.” As sun-sentinel.com reports . . .

The [Terror Intelligence Improvement Act] would require that the FBI Director and the Joint Terrorism Task Forces be “immediately” notified of any attempt to buy a gun by someone who has recently  been the subject of a terrorism investigation.

The U.S. Attorney General would then be allowed to “delay” a purchase for up to 3 business days and file an emergency petition to prevent it. If the court finds probable cause that the buyer is connected to terrorism, that person can be arrested and detained.

“This bill would achieve everyone’s goal of making it harder for suspected terrorists to buy guns, and do so without violating the due process and Second Amendment rights of innocent, law-abiding Americans,” Rubio said.

Well that’s just dumb. If the gun buyer in question is not a prohibited person, then the FBI would have to charge them with something else to stop the sale. Something like, I dunno, planning a terrorist attack. Rubio’s not thinking that buying a gun while being on the Terrorist Watch List is criminal, is he?

Given that the FBI’s Terrorist Watch List is a secret, unaccountable (and therefore unconstitutional) database; given that the FBI’s recent “handling” of Hillary Clinton’s distribution of classified material (amongst other things) has revealed the Agency’s political contamination, this is a completely unacceptable “answer” to the Pulse attack, as his opponent points out, in his own special way.

  2. If the pulse nightclub situation happened in Chicago the death toll would have been at least double. Why? Because the city sees the SWAT team as a necessary evil. The support given to them is minimal. But back to the why. Because only 2 out of 10 guys have an emergency vehicle to drive home. So when a pulse nightclub happens the majority of the team has to load all their equipment in to the family car and drive to the scene. What makes even less sense is people working in “phone call” units like narcotics, vice and even the people who count money seizures all have take home cars. If there aren’t enough emergency vehicles, they lease cars for them. But since you have to tryout to get onto swat, instead of making a phone call, it’s not a priority. Now imagine a coordinated attack downtown, multiple small elements armed with rifles shooting at different locations. Now imagine the gridlock, even beyond the normal gridlock. Now try getting through all of that in the family van. It’s a mass funeral waiting to happen. So when it happens in Chicago and the question gets asked, why did it take so long for Swat to go in, you will already have your answer. Also, the city refuses to allow swat to do explosive breaching, which in the pulse nightclub was absolutely necessary. Too many “leaders” in Chicago with no practical street experience, military experience, or basic common sense. Just hand puppets to democratic masters who refuse to face reality. Just blame guns for everything instead of those wielding them illegally. Sorry for the rant but this situation of not equipping the swat team with emergency vehicles is just such a depraved indifference for life that it causes me to experience anxiety over how many more people will die when a situation happens here in Chicago. But as long as officers who arrest hookers have cars I guess it makes it ok. How crazy it that.

  3. There was never any good reason to trust Rubio in the first place. Too many republicans these days are republican in name only. Ya all would be well advised to check the internet articles more often, sift through the bull that does exist but continue to ask questions. Heck at the onset GOA endorsed Cruz who is just another political hack. Hint: look more closely at their connections and follow the money.
