The suspect in this past weekend's carnage in Campustown at the University of Illinois is none other than Robbie M. Patton, 18, of Champaign. Here's the thing: This guy was sentenced to prison for eight years in 2015 for… wait for it… a drive-by shooting. He went to prison on Deceber 21, 2015 to begin serving his sentence. The Illinois Department of Corrections, in their infinite wisdom, released him from prison on parole on September 9th.
Get sentenced to eight years for shooting at someone in a drive-by, serve eight months. Just like dog-years in reverse.
Is it any wonder we have such rampant violence in Illinois?
It gets better… The whole tussle started over a spilled drink, according to the police. This scumbag Robbie Patton then, according to police, pulled an illegally possessed and carried gun, and started shooting at the people who "disrespected" his pathetic self. He killed a 22-year-old man who was set to start his new job as a registered nurse on Monday morning, September 26th. He wounded three others and a fourth got hit by a car fleeing the carnage.
This isn't a human being the police are hunting for. This is an evil monster. Who shoud have been in prison!
Champaign (Chicago Tribune) – The suspect police are hunting for in a deadly shooting near the University of Illinois is an 18-year-old Champaign man who was just released from a prison boot camp two weeks before, authorities said.
Champaign police announced Wednesday that an arrest warrant has been issued for Robbie Patton in a shooting early Sunday morning that killed a Mundelein man and injured three others, including a Round Lake man.
Authorities said the shooting occurred after an argument that started in an apartment building in the 300 block of Green Street in an area of Champaign known as Campustown. The disagreement — which may have started over a spilled drink, officials said — became physical and continued in a nearby parking lot shortly after midnight Sunday, when authorities said the gunman fired the shot that struck and killed 22-year-old George Korchev of Mundelein.
The previous lead suspect, a 22-year-old Chicago man, has apparently been cleared of involvement.

This man was killed due to the reckless reduction in sentencing, where an 18 yr old commits gun violence-again! His ass should have been in prison! Boot camp is for NON VIOLENT OFFENDERS ONLY! The judge was wrong for imposing it, and a nurse is dead because of it. Your states attorney should be crucified for allowing this!
These sissifed thugs who have zero coping skills have to shoot at each other over a spilled drink? How tough are you that death must occur because someone stepped on your new shoes? But now we can scream for more gun control…. what law would have prevented this tragedy?
Google Tommy Sotomayor
the man says things that nail this issue, but we all have to pretend it's a gun problem
Spot on, Seamus! And as I am finding in my research, that Illinois laws uniquely allow what should be sentences of attempted murder to be easily interpreted as "aggravated discharge of a firearm." Outrageously, these incidents specify…"when knowingly or intentionally discharges a firearm at or into a knowingly occupied building…vehicle…at a peace officer, fireman, paramedic… performing their official duties" and depending on the subsection is either a Class 1 felony or Class X felony. If Class X, the sentence should be no less than 10 years no more than 45. This all sounds like open season on peace keepers to me! So how this thug gets off with a slap on the wrist "boot camp" sentence should be mind-blowing to me, however, with Julia Rietz state's attorney camp making the plea deal…light and easy sentencing is common. Time for tough sentencing! Vote George Vargas!
This guy would look good after a 12-ga shotgun blast to the mouth. Let him do the right thing. The best part of him ended up as a brown stain on a shit-stained mattress.
You see a group of young blacks dressed like hood rats and you can almost count on trouble showing up sooner or later. And if the PC crowd doesn't like that, tough.
I saw the video at the News-Gazette and it looked like a good place not to hang out. It's a shame the dead guy just happened to be walking by. Talk about bad luck.
Wow! You just can't say enough about the increase in crime and the lack of common sense in Illinois. What a mess!
