Bernie Sanders.
Remember that guy?
Yes, the whole system is rigged and Bernie Sanders wasn't the favored candidate among the mainstream media complex (and subsequently, any polling companies or organizations that wish to get publicity either). In this year's primary race, the media used polls to demoralize Bernie supporters by wildly misreading the electorate, much as they are trying to do with Donald Trump now that he's Hillary's opponent.
You can see above what happened.
Clinton's 21 point advantage touted by the pollsters turned into a 1.5 point loss when the real votes got counted.
Don't be dissuaded from participating in the process just because the big pollsters show Donald Trump behind by a few points. Most of those polls are weighted using old schemes that simply don't apply this election season. Republican participation in the primaries was up sharply, while Democrat participation languished in the toilet.
31.2 million Republicans voted (+42% over 2008, +62% over 2012)
30.7 million Democrats voted (-24% over 2008)
That's an 86% enthusiasm gap. That's a monster.
Yet today's polls are weighted with 40+% Democrats, 25-30% Republicans and the balance so-called "Independents". That given the Republicans' enthusiasm and Democrats' disinterest, that's simply wishful thinking on the part of so-called "experts" among the polling companies.
Go vote. Vote early in fact, as our people are telling us that in Illinois at least, officials expect more voters than people who are currently registered. That's not so much voter fraud as it is this year's race as LOTS of people interested in casting ballots who haven't voted in many, many years, if ever before. Vote early (and often, as applicable!) so you can avoid the long lines at polling places on November 8th.
I wish more people understood how the polls are rigged.
