David and Colleen Lawson were among the petitioners in the McDonald v. Chicago lawsuit that applied the Heller SCOTUS decision to the entire nation. Both have been plagued with health issues in the past couple of years and not long ago they began a move to Washington State, north of Spokane.
On Friday morning, the Lawson family home in Washington State, shared by a number of family members caught fire and David's brother and neice perished in the fire. David survived the fire. His wife Colleen wasn't mentioned, so she must be okay – perhaps still finalizing things in Chicago.
The home and an RV parked outside were a total and complete loss.
There's a Go Fund Me campaign posted to help the family through this difficult time.
Spread the word.
