We've warned everyone that the gun control push would come.  Big gun control has teamed up with Illinois Chicagoland Democrats to offer all of their old ideas and some new ones to implement Chicago-style gun control on all of Illinois.

Of course, with Chicago-style gun control comes Chicago-style peace in the streets, right?  As Chicago stands as a model, crime-free utopia!

HB0174:  Got a FOID card and fail to report the loss of a firearm within 72 hours?  YOU become the criminal.  With felony provisions for the loss of three or more firearms, unreported, within 72 hours.  Even better, if you are a criminal and don't have a FOID card, you cannot be charged under this proposal.  How kind of them, right?   File a witness slip here in opposition.

The news isn't all bad though.  We have a couple of common sense bills that gun owners should look favorably upon.

HB240 would allow CCW while hunting.  No big deal, right?

The second, HB 274 would:

Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Provides that a municipality, including a home rule unit, may not revoke, suspend, or refuse to renew a business license or otherwise interfere with a business license issued by the municipality to a business owner, including the holder of a retail liquor license issued under the Liquor Control Act of 1934, because the business owner lawfully permits a concealed carry licensee to carry firearms into his or her business establishment. Effective immediately.

While I just don't see Chicago Democrats passing a bill to remove their power to intimidate businesses who welcome concealed carry, you can fill out a witness slip in support of this bill HERE.

Write Congress to remind them that "…. the Right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."  The word "infringe" means to "act so as to limit or undetmine."  All laws and regulations whose intent is to limit or undermine the people's right to keep and bear arms are UNCONSTITUTIONAL!  Stop violating the Constitution you have sworn to uphold!

    2. Uh……. Not trying to split hairs here, BUT, you didn't EARN your rights by any action or service. Every U.S. citizen is guaranteed their rights by the U.S. Constitution. 

      Also…… The brethren here are the last people that you need to tell to "leave it alone"….. Spend that energy somewhere effective and proactive!
