Sound of Freedom is doing well…  From PM:

Presales for Angel Studios’ Sound of Freedom have skyrocketed to $10 million ahead of the film’s July 4th opening across 2,600 locations.

According to Deadline, the studio is “spotting a 6-day $20M start which is extremely impressive for a non-major studio adult thriller,” and over one million tickets have been bought for the based-on-a-true-story film following a former Homeland Security agent, played by Jim Caviezel, who rescues abducted children around the world.

The film follows Caviezel’s character Tim Ballard, who left the Homeland Security Department after he was frustrated with the US’ rescue efforts for abducted children.

Ballard founded Operation Underground Railroad in 2013, which has conducted many sting operations around the globe to rescue children, and has donated funds and technology to law enforcement agencies to combat sex trafficking.

The success of the non-major studio movie in presales comes as the latest Indiana Jones film had seen lackluster presales.

  1. Saw it today with a like minded friend. Its compelling. You are left with a lot to think about, and I would highly recommend seeing this film. Kids are the most innocent people, and deserve better.
