Given the high profile nature of the illegal alien invasion of our nation, there’s an event coming up where you can meet someone who was on the inside of the US government’s operation tasked with defending our borders. At least under the Trump administration. It’s a little different today.
The Sangamon County Republican Party is gearing up to host the 120th annual Lincoln Day Dinner on May 9, 2024. The event is scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Bank Of Springfield Center, featuring former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan as the keynote speaker.
“We’re honored to have Tom Homan join us as our keynote speaker for our annual dinner,” said Mark A. Hurley, Lincoln Day Dinner Chair. “His expertise and perspective will help our community and elected leaders better understand the current border security and illegal immigration issues, and the broader agenda to fix the border.”
Tom Homan has a long career in Law Enforcement, first serving as a police officer before becoming a Border Patrol Agent. He served as an Investigator, Supervisor, and Special Agent in Charge prior to becoming an Associate ICE Director and later the Director of ICE. Homan is the CEO of Border911, a nonprofit. He and his team of border experts are touring the country and educating people on the importance of border security.
Also speaking at the dinner is Illinois Senate Republican Leader John Curran. Senator Curran has criticized Governor Pritzker’s handling of the Illinois migrant crisis. The Governor invited illegal immigrants to Illinois, spent hundreds of millions of dollars to expand programs and cash assistance for noncitizens, and is now requesting $1 billion in tax increases to cover the costs of his programs. In essence, Pritzker has used your tax dollars to make Illinois a noncitizen welfare state.
