Ain’t “No Cash Bail” great?  It’s keeping violent thugs out of jail so they can keep on committing violent crimes.  Take the PhD candidate and future cancer researcher Malik Williams, age 23.  He opened up on an occupied car in front of police officers with his fancy Stribog 9mm.  You know, one of those guns that Pritzker’s so-called “Protect Illinois Communities Act” was supposed to keep out of the hands of mopes like Malik.

That’s right.  Pritzker’s gun control didn’t keep Illinois communities protected.

The boys in blue activated their lights and ol’ Malik had an “Ah crap!” moment.

He jumped out of “his” Infiniti Q50 sedan (a $50,000 car driven by a most-unemployed gang banger?), armed with that Stribog SP9A1 pistol, sans any kind of sighting system, because savants like Malik don’t need sights to know where their boomsticks are aimed.  Then he ran like Forest Gump from the police.

Unfortunately for Malik the Magnificent, he didn’t have the stamina or the quickness of wit Forest Gump was known for.  He certainly failed to not only outrun the police, but he didn’t even come close to out-running their Motorola radios.

What was he thinking?  Probably not a lot.  Before you get upset that we’ll never find the cure for cancer with the arrest of Malik, don’t worry too much.  He isn’t the smartest cancer researcher.  Maybe he just thought they would let him get away with their no-chase policy?

Bold strategy Cotton.  How’d that work out for ya?

Spoiler alert:  Not so well.

(Frankly, if Dr. Dumbass had simply fled in his car, cops probably would have let him go…)

When taken to the judge, the Cook County State’s Attorney actually asked that this menace to society be held until trial.  The trial court judge sent him home to his mama instead.  And they wonder why they have a crime problem in Chicago.

CWB Chicago has the dirty deets:

CHICAGO — A Cook County judge rejected a prosecution request to keep a man in jail as a public safety risk for allegedly shooting at an occupied car while Chicago police officers looked on.

Judge William Fahy denied the state’s detention petition for Malik Williams, 23, deciding instead to send Williams home with a nighttime curfew.

Chicago cops were on patrol when they saw Williams open fire on the car with a black rifle near 5800 South Aberdeen around 9 p.m. on September 14, according to the allegations. The officers immediately turned on their emergency equipment to pull Williams over.

Williams bolted from his Infiniti Q50 with the rifle in his hand, according to a CPD report and the state’s detention petition. Both documents said he ignored the officers’ commands and threw the gun as he continued running.

Officers arrested him nearby after he fell, and they also recovered the Stribog SP9A1 Grand Power firearm that he had ditched, according to the police report.

  1. The democRAT’s “PICA” legislation was only designed to infringe on the “law-abiding” firearms owners, NOT the criminals, you see, Malik probably does not have a “FOID” card, a “concealed carry” permission card, and little or no “training” in firearm use and legal handling for firearms. He is “under-privileged” after all, (severe sarcasm) so he can “do no wrong”!

  3. I hope it never happens but if I ever go before this judge, say for dropping my gum on the sidewalk I’m fairly certain that I won’t get sent home to my momma.

  4. No doubt that Malik was leaving the library and on his way to church when 5-0 jumped into the game. IF, IF a judge was racist enough to want a community destroyed by violent thugs using guns, the current policy seems to be an ideal means to accomplish that goal.
