The anti-police Civilian Office of Police Accountability investigates reports of wrongdoing by Chicago cops.  Their latest hare-brained decision came out today.  It’s a doozy.

What happened and what was the harsh punishment recommended?  A Chicago cop, after hearing the then-mayor Lori Lightfoot refer to John Catanzaro, the Chicago FOP President, as a clown.  Not so long after, when Lightfoot lost her bid for re-election, the officer posted the meme above.

That chapped some butts in Chicago city government and they wanted this cop’s scalp.

The COPA cop-haters went to work making a pimple into a mountain and after many months of deliberations, they released their recommendation to terminate the officer for daring to mock the ass-clown mayor.

CWB Chicago has the story:

CHICAGO — The agency charged with investigating wrongdoing by Chicago police officers recommended that an officer be fired for, mostly, posting a picture to Facebook of former Mayor Lori Lightfoot in “blackface,” when the image actually showed her in clown make-up, according to reports released Friday.

After nearly five years of investigation, the agency sent its recommendation for termination to Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling in April. He rejected COPA’s recommendation, calling its recommendation of termination “egregious” and noting that the image did not show Lightfoot, who is Black, in blackface. It showed her in clown makeup.

COPA accepted Snelling’s counter-recommendation of a 10-day suspension.

Just six weeks ago, two former high-ranking investigators at COPA filed scorching lawsuits claiming they were terminated for speaking out about anti-police bias that is tainting its investigations.

The investigation began days after Lightfoot, presiding over a City Council meeting, was heard on a hot mic referring to the police union president as a “clown.” Lightfoot acknowledged that she was sorry she “said it out loud” during the July 24, 2019, meeting.

A 10-day suspension for posting a meme in a private Facebook group mocking the ass-clown Mayor of Chicago after she lost her bid for re-election?

Just like the Second Amendment, the First Amendment apparently has no place in Illinois if the would-be tyrants running the state had their way.
