Hat tip to Second City Cop for this one.  We knew about the great majority of tower ladder trucks belonging to Chicago Fire Department being offline because of breakdowns, lack of preventative maintenance and an unwillingness of the City of Chicago to pay for needed repairs.  That’s all well and good until you have a major fire in a high rise building.

We even reported on how dozens if no scores of CFD apparatus were offline at the maintenance shed.

MAYOR MAYHEM’S CHICAGO: Englewood’s fire station has no fire engines, scores of apparatus out of service

It was so bad that the Englewood stations remaining engine had broken down and that station was left without a single fire truck.  Maybe they could issue electric bikes to the firefighters to respond to fire calls?

Now this.

How about that?

I uploaded this at full resolution.  How in the world did this happen? Deferred maintenance creates a life-safety hazard that could have killed someone. Image via Second City Cop.  Look at the condition of the tire next to it!  OMG.

So glad the City of Chicago paid big bucks for the finest tires money could buy (no doubt from a connected vendor), only to mount them onto a rusted hulk of a rim of a poorly maintained million-dollar firetruck.

Imagine that was your wife loading stuff into the back of that car?  With your kid or grandkid next to her!  Because of criminal negligence of someone at the firehouse/Chicago City Garage. That apparatus should have been taken out of service months before.

  1. If an IL governor can be sent to prison for stuff falling off trucks, in another state, why can’t an IL mayor be so sentenced for stuff falling off city vehicles within IL?

  2. Really?

You sound like a girl. You sound like a girl who has never changed a tire in her life and wouldn’t know a lug nut from a testicle! Give us a f****** break! It was a faulty rim. Billionaires have faulty rims fall off their Bentleys. Broke ass mother f****** have rims fall off their cars too. It’s a universal fault when you manage to somehow end up with a faulty rim. You can see the hub came right off that rim. It doesn’t have anything to do with the mayor or refusal to fund any fire department or anything …it’s just a happenstance!

Dude you might as well call Brandon Johnson’s wife a w**** like you do your other political opponents relatives!

Can you do no better, jb??? I can only imagine the amount of time and energy that you took to compile this fancy article with embedded videos and pictures and fancy text and all that BS just for a hatchet job on johnson!

Look we all revile the mayor of Chicago and wish he would retire and let some white guy take over the job but you got to do better man! we’ve got to be better than they are and this is not the way. Sometimes a broken rim is just a broken rim.

  3. I think it’s time for John Boch to retire from being a public face of Guns Save Life. He is petty, childish, and unqualified to generate content for GSL let alone be in a leadership role. It seems like everything he has to say at this point is detrimental to the pro 2a movement and especially to GSL. Name calling and attacking other people should not be acceptable behavior for the Executive Director of any organization.

    1. I despise many of the things the man says and does, particularly his mind numb blind thoughtless support for the police of old that seems to be changing lately!

But I will say this: if he’s spearheading the lawsuits that GSL is involved in today that is a good thing and thanks for that jb!
