Final figures are in for Chi-raq’s 2024 homicides and shootings. Last week the new failure mayor (next in such a long line of failures) touted homicides are down! Yes. A whopping 7% less than 2024. Certainly nothing contributed to his actions or directions and in fact with dropping the Shot-Spotter he may have even contributed.
Well how many less gun murders is 7% this year? It is 39 fewer murders. This year human beings were shot and killed in Chicago 538 times. Last year it was 577. I know they try to accentuate any good news, but focusing on 7% less seems petty compared to the 538 lives lost. Why don’t they focus on that part?
Oh and once again this year Chicago’s homicide rate of 609 is almost exactly the same number of homicides committed in NYC and LA- combined 623. (NYC 357 and LA 266.)
How many were shot in the Midwest Democrat hub and did not die this year? 2444, a miniscule 2% less than last years 2500. How casual can you be to brag up “Shootings are down 2%” when oh, say a couple thousand people were illegally shot with murderous intent by citizens in your city but survived? Every damn year.
Hey Jackass keeps a running shot clock on their site and in 2024 someone was shot every 2 hrs and 57 minutes and someone was murdered every 14 hours rain or shine, hot or snow covered.
Cause of death in Chi for all recorded murders this year is 88.3% from gunshot wound. Stabbing, Arson, Child Abuse, Trauma, Strangulation and Auto make up the other 11.3%.
The statistics that really should chap our collective ass are the prosecution and clearance rates. This year the CPD is claiming 21% clearance rate for homicides. Now that does not mean just prosecution and conviction, it also has to take in other factors so it is not really a clean statistic.
Here is a real in your face number where no one is being held accountable- out of 501 cases presented to the State’s Attorney’s office, no charges were approved in 396 of the murders. That is 79% of the cases presented by the police following a full investigation. Throw in another 4.2% of cases where they know who committed the crime but could not present a case to the prosecutors, and you are up over 80% of murders committed in Chicago are not prosecuted. 8 out of 10 get away with it, and are not pursued for charges. Do you think that has an impact on the shooters? They know they are going to get away with it, and even if caught following one or more murders odds of ever going to jail are only 2 out of 10. Those should be the real Illinois Lottery odds.
Keep bragging about crime being down. Somebody might believe it if you say it long enough and loud enough. The State’s Attorneys Office is failing miserably.

President Trump and our new “border czar” might make a difference next year, maybe they will get to put the “Prick-ster” and bad-brain Brandon in jail/prison too and “cut the head off” the criminal snake. We can always hope/dream, haha.
