Here’s the bill they’re going to run with.
Here’s a very quick and dirty summary:
- Don’t need mom or dad’s approval under 21 for a FOID if you’re in the IL National Guard
- Red flag plenary orders from 6 months to 12 months in duration
- One year renewal on red flag orders
- Ban on sale, purchase, possession of modern sporting rifles, popular self-defense shotguns and quite a few defensive handguns. Class 3 felony for the first one, Class 2 for subsequent guns. And those of you who have a .50 cartridge… that’s a Class A misdemeanor.
- Ban on .50 calibers.
- Ban on magazines over 12 rounds. LOL. 90 days to get rid of your mags. $1000 fine for the first mag, Class 4 felony for 2+.
- Gun registration and FOID endorsement for existing owners of forbidden firearms

What’s the compliance rate going to be on this? 5%? 10%?
It’s not about compliance. It’s about turning you into a criminal. They know you have a foid. They know you own guns. They know you didn’t register them. They’ll raid your house with SWAT teams, to charge you with class 2 and 3 felonies, when you dissent.
Gut wrenching use of raw power inflicted upon the law abiding.
There should be a way to punish lawmakers that knowing pass unconstitutional laws. They are wasting taxpayer money creating this garbage bill, and wasting more money forcing a court challenge to kill it.
